Won Ji An in Talks to Star With Park Seo Joon in a New K-DramaAfter catching the attention of viewers on Squid Game 2, it seems Won Ji An has garnered the interest of K-drama producers as well. The actress, who played the cool and charismatic Player 380 or Im Se-mi on Squid Game 2, has reportedly received an offer to star in an upcoming TV series.

Currently known as Waiting for Gyeongdo, the K-drama is eyeing Ji An as its female lead alongside Hallyu heartthrob Park Seo Joon, whose involvement in the project was first revealed by TV Daily last year.

In response to the news, Ji An’s agency, Hiin Entertainment, shared that nothing has been finalized yet. “Waiting for Gyeongdo is a project that Won Ji An is currently reviewing her casting offer for,” they said in a statement.Should Seo Joon and Ji An both accept their roles, they will reportedly play former lovers in the romantic-comedy series to be directed by Lim Hyun Wook. The director is no stranger to the genre, having helmed the popular 2023 K-drama King the Land. He’s also worked on shows like Reflection of You, Life, and People You May Know.

According to SoompiWaiting for Gyeongdo is the story of two people who fall in love in their twenties. They part ways eventually but meet again years later in an “unforeseen moment in their lives.” This reunion will spark a series of romantic and humorous events that will bring the pair closer again.
If casted, this won’t be Ji An’s first foray into the genre, and as a lead at that. The rookie actress top-billed a show for the very first time in 2023 titled Heartbeat, wherein she portrayed a fierce heiress named Joo In-hae who ends up living with a 100-year-old half-human and half-vampire, played by Ok Taecyeon.
